Maldives with Kids
Choose a shallow house reef or a local island with a sandy lagoon, and a transfer that is not too long.

The Maldives works well with children when the lagoon is shallow, the transfer is under a few hours, and the stay has a family room. Resorts with kids' clubs suit longer stays. Local islands such as Maafushi are practical if you want cafes and a sandy beach without a resort minimum stay. Avoid long rough crossings in the southwest monsoon if anyone gets seasick.
Pack rash guards, reef-safe sunscreen, and any medication you need. Pharmacies are limited outside Malé.
Snorkelling beats deep diving for most children. Ask for a lagoon with a sandy entry.
